Run for Hope 2026: Alex runs Nice to Cannes for CSG06

On Sunday 8 November, Alex Huggins will take on the Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes, Nice to Cannes, to raise funds for Cancer Support Group 06. That’s all 42.195 km, and this year he’s running it solo.

It’s Alex’s fourth year on this start line running for cancer support. Last year he ran as part of the CSG06 relay team. This year he’s going the full distance on his own, under our 2026 banner: Run for Hope – Stronger Together.

Why Alex runs

“Awareness is so important for catching and treating cancer early, and support makes a huge difference. Even just taking care of someone’s dog while they go for treatment truly helps with peace of mind.”

That’s exactly what CSG06 is here for. We offer free, confidential, non-medical support in English to anyone affected by cancer across the Alpes-Maritimes, Monaco and the eastern Var: active listening, drop-ins, complementary therapies, and practical help when it’s needed most.

Training is going well

Alex has just run his fastest 30K ever: 31.6 km along the Antibes coast at an average of 4:59 per km, with a personal record on the Garoupe climb along the way.

How you can help

  • Donate: by PayPal or email to alex@huggins.eu. Every euro helps keep our services free for the people who need them.
  • Follow along: we’ll share updates and race-day news on Instagram (@cancersupport.06) and Facebook (CancerSupportGroup06).
  • Cheer him on: if you’re on the route on 8 November, look out for the neon yellow shirt and give him a shout.

Thank you, Alex, and thank you to everyone getting behind him. Nobody runs for CSG06 alone.
