Members’ Update June 2026
Dear Members,
At the AGM, several of you asked for more regular updates on how we’re doing — so, et voilà.
I’m delighted to say the trend of CSG supporting more clients has continued. So far this year, we
have welcomed 23 new clients, compared with 25 for the whole of 2025, bringing the total number
of clients we currently support to 53, up from 41 at the end of last year. Cancer, sadly, has not gone
away — but through our outreach we are reaching more of the people who need us. Our Active
Listeners have risen to the challenge of supporting this growing number of clients, and my thanks
go to every one of you.
We’ve built an excellent relationship with Tzanck Hospital, where Megan’s harp playing continues
to be a much-loved fixture. We’ve also now met with Lacassagne, the major cancer centre for the
Côte, who were impressed by the professionalism of what we offer and have agreed to help
promote our work — very good news. Alongside this, we’ve been developing our presence online,
including a new page in French aimed at medical professionals — a natural complement to these
relationships.
Our drop-ins continue to be well attended. The monthly sessions at The Grange in Mouans-
Sartoux and at La Ligue in Antibes have been especially appreciated, with clients benefiting from
art therapy and reflexology workshops. By popular demand, we’re adding an extra summer drop-in
at The Grange on 1st July, and we are planning online Zoom sessions later in July and August — a
space to stay connected over the holidays, when many of us are away or travelling. We’re also
delighted to be returning to Nice, where we plan to begin monthly drop-ins at the Institut Mozart
shortly, potentially including summer sessions. Our thanks to everyone who makes these sessions
happen.
If you’re on social media, do follow, like and share our posts — it’s one of the simplest ways to help
us reach more people. Here’s one you’re welcome to share:
CSG06 is here for anyone on the Côte d’Azur living with cancer — and for the people who
love them. From our harp sessions at the Tzanck to our drop-ins in Mouans-Sartoux and
Antibes, we offer a warm, listening ear. If our work matters to you, a like or a share helps us
reach someone who needs us. #CancerSupport #CôteDAzur
On the finance side: with the decision not to take part in the Nice–Cannes marathon this year, we
had expected to draw down our reserves. The very good news is that we’ve received two
extremely generous donations totalling approximately €40,000, which should put us on firm
financial footing for the year.
Lastly, we’re delighted to confirm that our Thanksgiving “bring and share” — for clients, their
partners and members — will return on 7th November at The Grange. Last year’s was so warmly
received that bringing it back was an easy decision, and we hope to make it a fixture. As ever,
many hands make light work, so if you’d like to help with the organising, we’d love to hear from
you.
